Уровень жизни
Совокупность благ, удовлетворяющих физические, духовные и социальные потребности людей. Уровнь жизни определяется доходом на душу населения (см. Income per head), однако, в силу неравномерности распределения личного дохода доход многих людей, как правило, не соответствует среднему доходу по стране. В этом показателе также не учитываются такие услуги, как здравоохранение и образование, которые предоставляются или субсидируются государством. Кроме того, при определении уровня жизни трудно учесть те благоприятные или отрицательные факторы, которые могут изменить образ жизни человека и которые не имеют выраженной экономической ценности. Например, два человека имеют одинаковый заработок, однако один живет за городом, в живописном месте, тишине и покое, а другой - в промышленном центре, в условиях дорожных пробок, загрязнения окружающей среды, шума и криминальной обстановки. Их жизненный уровень в денежном выражении одинаков, но на самом деле это не так (см. Externalities). Уровень жизни оценивается по стране в целом, по отдельным регионам и социальным группам с целью определения его динамики, а также для сопоставления с другими странами в качестве индикатора социально-экономического развития.
